I suppose at the age of 69 it's to be expected.
I'm not depressed, but I'm really fed up with just about everything.
The ongoing case of the NHS management not taking responsibility when respect consultants and doctors expressed concerns.
Most Police forces in special measures because of bad practice and management.
Main Government, and local councils behaving badly and not listening to the public.
The fear of being fined for small motoring transgressions (over the speed limit, yellow boxes, red lines, yellow lines, bus lanes, etc)
And then there's ULEZ, congestion, LEZ and various other charges.
Then when you've negotiated that lot, you've got to somehow have the correct app to pay to park.
The me, me, me society.
Having to cross f'ing rainbow crossings, and having pride forced on to me.
I don't go about wearing a T-shirt with hetro and married for 48 years!!
I can of course continue.....
When I was younger I can remember people of my present age commenting that they'd be glad they didn't have long left. Now I know what they meant, ha!!
I'm not going to top myself, and feel happy doing my own thing, have a lovely family etc, but I do wonder how long things can carry on as they are.

Hypocrite.

Get a grip is my best advice. Stop winding yourself up reading whatever crap media you consume and you might be happier.

Victor Meldrew is that you masquerading as PH poster.

Stop reading the papers or watching the news if that lot worries you so much. The vast majority of that list has precisely zero impact on what you do on a day-to-day basis. Start ignoring this little stuff that is inconsequential & start enjoying yourself.

Seriously?

Why the hell would you let half the stuff on that list bother you?

Why is the advice, don't read about it?
It's perfectly OK to feel pissed off about this stuff. The fact is if we just ignore it, it will get more and worse.
Much of the list pisses me off a lot too.

There is a ballance as ever as to how you let it effect you but ignoring it, not reading about it is a crazy notion.

As you say there's a balance.

You'd do well not to read about things like Letby and high profile NHS or Met and other Police cock ups and they naturally attract a lot of media coverage.

Once you start banging on about "Having to cross f'ing rainbow crossings, and having pride forced on to me" and "I don't go about wearing a T-shirt with hetro and married for 48 years!!" I'd probably suggest stop reading the likes of the Telegraph and the Mail as that sort of thing is pretty easy to avoid and that's before you even get into why on earth you'd let it bother you.

All the above is fairly trivial given your generation thought this was acceptable….

You can, broadly, choose what annoys you in life. I’d wager that most of the OPs list of complaints either doesn’t directly impact his quality of life, or isn’t something he encounters day to day - it very much reads like a list of Daily Mail / Express / GB news talking points.

If it’s got him annoyed, maybe not reading about this stuff that doesn’t particularly impact him might give him a more relaxed outlook.

I don’t consume much news these days, outside of scanning the headlines on the BBC, and I can honestly say I feel better for it. biggrin

No Irish black dogs, outrageous.

Seriously OP, feel your pain. I'm 60 and as others have said try to ignore, no do ignore the news. It's just there to wind everyone up.

I, unfortunately, work in news and my recent 3 weeks off was a breath of fresh air and I felt so much better despite 2 of those weeks being spent on another non news job.

Been back at work 2 weeks and boy am I feeling down plus I got a letter from the police yesterday.

Caught on my Ducati doing 47 in a 40. I'd used it to go to work and was telling a colleague how frustrating it is to ride due to all the 20mph and the one 40mph limits on my commute. First time I'd used it in a while too and have had a clean licence for sometime.

Anyway just ignore what you can do nothing about and it'll probably not affect you anyway.

Cheerio smile

Are you really angry with those things OP, or is it other stuff (age/health related, whatever), and you're seeking a target?

Move out of London and educate yourself on why we need pride.

No one’s ever been murdered for being straight.

What does "having pride forced on to me" even mean?

Nobody has ever made me go to one.

Good shout Pablo! Picture says it clearly.
If you look around, Tabs, there is a lot to be grateful for.

As others have said, maybe the media you pay attention to don't want you to feel grateful, empathetic, balanced. There's no money in that.

No, not 'angry' with any of those things, and in very good health, and no worries.
Nowadays people don't seem to have any etiquette, or take responsibility for their actions seemingly blaming things on others.

I find it funny when someone rants about having "homosexuality shoved down their throats". Is the appropriate answer, "Only if you get down on your knees."?
