Was going to order some shower gel, top of list is Nivea £3 or so for a 6 pack, bargain. Screen says free delivery etc. (I am prime member)

Then it says Min order qty = 2 - that’s fine as so cheap, happy to have 12 of them instead.

So I select qty = 2, then it says delivery charge = £19.99!!! Good job I noticed, so didn’t proceed.

So, careful out there as I used to see something, click and go etc. “knowing” it’s free delivery. More care if “buy it now”! As you might miss the cost until you see the bill…..

If this is a new thing Amazon are trying on, they’re going to lose a lot of customers. The whole point of Prime is free delivery.

A quick search found your product and it's neither prime nor sold by amazon.
For what it's worth I've reported it to amazon.

Yes, I've noticed it too - they are going to lose loads of customers.

Pay for prime delivery but you don't get it soon unless you pay an extra delivery charge on top now.

Next thing coming is adverts on the Prime Video you are paying for... unless you pay extra there as well.

Exactly it’s not a prime buy box it’s a 3rd party seller.. bit naughty adding the £20+ postage but as always double check before pressing buy it now!

I didn’t think there would be much margin in 6 bottles of branded shower gel inc free delivery for £3.00 thougheek

It doesn't look like it's Amazon themselves. It's someone operating a bait and switch scam. I suspect the loophole will be fixed.

Something up with the listing.
Well yeah they're obviously scamming the listings. Too much of the same sort of crap on ebay as well in order to get their listings to the top of a search.

For sure - but as soon as you select quantity =2 - the minimum - it switches to £22.99 delivery.

It claims 500+ sold in the last month - assuming they can't scam that number they must be earning from this. Figure a £10 margin on the delivery and that's 5 grand.

Hardly user error, it’s still a scam.

I filter with Prime toggle and they still show up near top of listings.

Interestingly it also states “Amazon’s Choice” too!

One expects this type of st on googling online etc. but not on Amazon store which we’re supposed to trust…..

Not quite sure how the seller is manipulating the buy box by offering a very cheap base price(with expensive postage) but the listing is still showing as free postage? Something out of kilter with the Amazon machine there?

Sadly Amazon are utterly untouchable but that’s the world we live in ! From the other perspective you want to try being a seller on the platform..that’s a whole other level of pain and frustration banghead

I can understand the irritation but before you click buy you can check the total cost, there is a lot of this going on with websites from all sorts of companies so buyer beware applies.

If it sounds to be true, etc applies and you should not assume buying online is automatically cheaper than bricks and mortar shops.

I’ll tell you what else is weird (I think there’s been a hack/bug or something) if I look in my previous orders, these products were ordered (from Amazon, prime etc.) and if you click on the link (in previous orders) to “buy it again”, it takes you to these scam links.

I.e. it’s not a different “Seller”/product, it’s the same add that these sellers have hijacked. Even on these products, you often get the seller above the product (e.g. Visit the Nivea Men Store) and click there to see the Nivea store and same (scam) product links are there too….

Something has gone wrong, I suspect a bug come to think of it (something relating to this new Prime thing about next day delivery if orders <£20).

I just managed to buy a LARGE bottle of this exact product for just £1.50 with ZERO delivery charge. I was in Tesco's.

I thought I was alone in wondering why someone would buy stuff like this from Amazon...

I have often wondered whether things like this are some weird delivery method for organised crime…

Order a bottle of shower gel delivered for £30, add the right delivery notes and you receive something completely different

Because often it's not £1.50 in Tesco, if they have in stock.

I order every few months from Amazon, often cheaper than supermarket and convenient.

Many of us have been purchasing from Amazon for years without issue so trust was well earned. However now........

Yep, this is not new. There have always been 3rd party sellers which are not covered by Prime. It's not hard to tell either.

Usually there will be a +£X.xx postage next to the price..
