prime delivery
Discussion
Haven't ordered for a while, for the most part our deliveries when we did order from amazon used to be with us by early afternoon the next day, but then started turning up quite late and was very rare to be 2 days later, but then i put that down to the fact we have 2 massive depots close to where i live that we never really had issues with anything like this.
Maybe it's because of the time of year and recruitment agencies taking on more staff who aren't so clued up on the job and taking their time to not get things wrong??

I ordered a couple of books the other day. I had three options for delivery: with Prime, fast delivery (about five pounds extra) or standard delivery for free. I chose the latter and the parcel arrived in less than 24 hours. On a Sunday. It’s not the first time I have experienced this.
I never pay for delivery on Amazon unless there is no way to avoid it.

Never had an issue. Every item I've ordered has arrived next day as promised, if you get in early even some things you can get same day. Only issue is things never arrive until evening but can live with that.
Value in Prime for the delivery alone, I don't watch much TV so don't get much value from the video bit but it's a nice to have.

Get rid of prime, you end up using it because it’s there
We stopped it and looking back at the order history it was mostly cack purchased on a whim
Nah it’s invaluable I order my mates kids birthday prezzies when I forget 2 clicks and it’s delivered to his house the next day same for sister and parents. Kids need a fancy dress outfit for that party you forgot bosh next day it’s here no panic. We stopped it and looking back at the order history it was mostly cack purchased on a whim

We are rural, so have rarely got next day with Prime.
However, this week has been even worse, probably due to the floods/weather. Not just Amazon, but also Royal Mail. I was supposed to receive a tracked delivery on Wednesday. Tracking is still saying that Royal mail have received the item.

It's costing you £108 a year for that though - isn't it cheaper just to pay for next day delivery when you need it?
LOL who pays that amount. Subscription is discounted several times throughout the year- especially during Black Friday sales. Think i paid about £70 last time. Given i ordered some computer parts on Sunday and they were here 10am Monday morning - i'm certainly not noticing any deterioration in service.
By the time you add up individual postage costs on every order - prime account easily saves you money if you use them a lot.
The fact that you can filter and get same day delivery too as part of the membership - sometimes it's a no brainer and very valuable.
Clearly depends on how often you buy from them. I buy a mixture of things including some groceries, as you can buy things in bulk much cheaper than any supermarket.

Personally speaking I look at Prime as another TV/Film streaming service that sometimes gives me free delivery on toothbrush heads and other random stuff.Rural, so never get next day any more, more like 2 or 3 days as others say. Still worth it though, as being rural it's hard to get stuff without a 2 hour round trip and 10pounds worth of unleaded. Mrs ABZ was ordering some stuff last night that would have been 5 pound to deliver, ordered on my account with Prime with free delivery.

Do you check the delivery date when ordering ? If you use the one click ordering it seems to default to a day or two later. I've been caught out a few times like that.
That could be it.I dont mind paying for prime, as use the tv aswell, and do order alot from them, so concider it worth it, but not if they are going to take the p with late delivery, im in the middle of a city, so would expect next day at least.

The quality of service has gone down recently tbh, spent £20 on total order value to get some items next day before 1pm but then it kept on getting pushed back till eventually it arrived around 9:30pm which was annoying as I needed it for that afternoon.
Same thing has happened again, said delivery by 1pm when I ordered earlier this afternoon if I spent £20 so added on a usb-c cable to bump up the price but I've checked it just now and it's saying by 8pm
On top of the delivery speed changes and you now get adverts on Prime video unless you pay extra and the Ring subscription for the doorbell is going up 40% in April.
Tempted to jump ship but they have a near monopoly, definitely don't feel I'm getting value for money anymore with Prime membership.
