Had heard of caving, thought it sounded pretty cool, so watched a couple of videos, now going to have nightmares biggrin

Anyone on here do it, if so why ? Squeezing through a tiny gap unable to move, going through "Sumps", i.e. water, underground, in the dark.

And folk do get stuck, concreted in and left there.

Any other similarly potentially terrifying hobbies you do ?

I've been going caving for years, always guided, with school groups and on my own. I've always enjoyed it (with a couple of exceptions!): there are physical and psychological challenges, and the underground world is fascinating. It isn't all hardcore: you can stand up and walk around in some places, but others are more confined. It somehow never feels as enclosed as it might seem. I prefer it to abseiling -but then I don't have much of a head for heights.

I can’t hack the thought of falling so none of those jumping out of planes, off bridges type hobbies.

The craze from a few years ago where kids break into building sites and climb on the cranes amongst other things (Ally Law was one)...gives me the willies watching them.

I like to stand a few feet away from V8 engines on full throttle,
which are running a highly-compressed liquid explosive, sometimes they go KA-BOOM in a big way.
Keeping the camera steady while attacked by 160dB and 3-4 Richter tremors is my kind of hobby,
Top Fuel Drag Racing is highly entertaining and kinda addictive, though.

Yeah fk that for a game of soldiers - worse than that would be having a diff explode driving one of the 'slingshot' dragsters where your wedding tackle is precariously close. Thankfully I like driving through corners so never paid dragsters much attention, crazy what some people choose to spend their money on.
