We use Helikon UTP at work. They are light-ish, fairly durable ripstop, not crazy expensive, and available in 'normal' colours. I'd say you could probably get away with pub wear, but it would depend on the pub.
At home I pretty much live in my Harkila trousers, which are used for all kinds of countryside/outdoor/dog related stuff. Very good, but more expensive than the Helikon stuff above.

They are expensive (I usually wait until I find a good offer) but they are worth every penny IMO.
I use mine for hiking and general wear as they are so comfortable. Can't really remember the last time I wore a pair of jeans thanks to Fjallraven.

I assume the trousers are better made than the ubiquitous backpacks one sees? The boy managed to wear a hole in his in a matter of weeks at school. Worst £80 I've spent.They are expensive (I usually wait until I find a good offer) but they are worth every penny IMO.

I'd go back to the shop/site you bought the bag from... lifetime guarantee is supposed to be good.I've really put the trousers through their paces (pun intended): gorse bushes, sharp granite, rough millstone grit, the odd barbed wire fence... they've had a fair bit of hammer and no signs of wear (the black colours can fade a bit in bright sunlight - that's my only complaint).

Not endowed with tactical pocketry cred but wash quickly, don't let your arse get wet, have stretch and can be worn places. Have a couple of pairs for general muckiness in winter.

RR trousers are very tight on the legs - bought a pair and struggle to actually wear them as they barely fit over my feet FFS! I've also got fairly large legs (I do a lot of walking) and found them very uncomfortable to wear. To be fair to them, waist/length sizes are spot on IMO.Think skinny jeans and you won't be far off the mark...
I have heard that they may be addressing this issue at some point, than again, customers have been complaining about the fit for years and RR have done nothing to address it.
As I always say: Revolution Race: gear for people who want to look like they enjoy the outdoors, but spend all their time in the city.

Surplus stores are becoming thin on the ground but hard to beat. Otherwise both my pairs of 150 quid overpriced Ralph Lauren cargo trousers are actually quite comfortable and form fitting. I wouldn’t wear them to a pub mind.

They're my go-to trousers. I just wear basic Matalan or Tesco combats. They do the job. I've rock climbed in them, hit the gym in them, played tennis in them (until I got an email from the chair
... switched to Craghopper ones with just one leg pocket and quick drying so they look "smarter"/more "sporty" and not had any complaints).
Normally, I buy them in the sales so don't tend to pay more than £10.
