I cant be the only one who really has no time for "Christmas"

I am not religious in the slightest and really struggled to get the vibe of it all

The Christmas music gets on my tits

And why cant we be nice and care for each other all year?

Doesnt help for me, many of my life lessons have been delt around Christmas, which have in turn taken the shine off it all

How about you follow your own wish and "be nice and care for each other all year".

Why begrudge others their enjoyment just because you want to be a Grinch?

I can't stand the music of the forced festivities, but I do enjoy the cheese, wine and time off work. I'm very fortunate in that I can pick and choose which bits I am exposed to at home.

Last year my dad was battling with the NHS to get a diagnosis
Diagnosed on my birthday in Feb
Died first week of march.

I'd rather be at work keeping busy.

I like it.

But I've stopped giving a fk and stressing over the "big day". Gift cards for gifts except the kids, and if the roast tatties are overcooked and wine isn't at the correct temperature then **** it.

Wonderful Xmas so far!

Went to my sister’s last night to celebrate with her plus niece and their families.

Good cheer, lots of laughs, great gifts!

Not religious in the slightest, but welcome the celebration of Family.

My sister can bake a good cake!

Durban Curry with your Yorkshire Puds? Yes!

Trifle anyone?

Homemade chocs!

Yep, it was great! And all again later today at my home with my Partner’s brother and her sons! Goose and Lamb and all the rest!

Merry Christmas All

Bits I love, food, family, watching the grandkids open their presents, take me back 50 years, marvellous.
Best bit is much needed time off work.
Bits I hate, not really Christmas related but I really don't like November to early March, never have. Can't do much after 4pm but on the upside it's getting lighter now.

Hate the commercialisation from September onwards. It's one day FFS. As for the religious bit, I'm an atheist.

However, it's nice that most people you see today will say a cheery greeting, just a shame it's not every day.

Always love Christmas, just so long as we can relax and do it entirely on our terms as the immediate family.

Hated Christmas as a child where it was a military exercise adhering religiously to family tradition and in entertaining between 20 and 30 relatives, most of whom my brothers and I barely knew, were in their 70s and 80s and thought having kids about spoilt the day. Absolutely zero immediate family time at all.

This year has the zing of an all new parlour game - will my M-I-L adhere to the terms on the non-mol order we had to take out against her this Autumn or not?

No but our kids don't need the extra stimulation so while there's plenty of core memories being made meltdowns are not far away.

I fancy going to bed already.

It's just overload and fatigue.

One of the channels on Freeview started 24/7 Christmas films on 1st September, all the Christmas adverts start 1st November, Christmas music from 1st December.

By the time you get to 25th December, you are thoroughly pissed off with it all.

My only Granddaughter still (I think) believes so this is the last time Father Christmas will be coming down the chimney. Pretty special time for us.

Other than that forget it, just another day.
