How was your 2023?

I couldn't find a similar thread already so here I am.
How was your 2023?
For me, it's been a mixed bag. I started the year feeling very insecure, I'd jacked in a secure - although mentally draining - job at 29 to pursue an English & History degree. Being a millennial, I was living at home making this possible, although I don't like the fact and it's not something I'm eager to admit to on a date either!
It affected my work although I was still producing some good stuff which got me a 2.1 out of my first year in June.
I'd started seeking counselling back in February as I knew I couldn't get through this on my own. It was a slow process and it did take until the summer to find a level of peace with it and kick on with my life. Half the year was gone by this point. But it was nicely bookmarked with a lovely week in Padstow and the surrounding area. Last time I was there, the Eden Project was an idea in Tim Smit's head. I'm heading back next year and I'm taking the Tangerine Dream with me this time.
Things kicked on for me from there, I took a bit more comfort from my friendships (ironically female ones (not in that way either) and put a bit more time into doing things I like. I had attempted to write a bit more poetry and prose over the summer, but ended up investing more of my time into reading as I got this years reading list and it's the best one I've had so far. I've been a little more organised in my 2nd year and started out very strongly in my first assessment. I'm eying up a masters already, but embarking on a new career at 34/35 is a touch daunting, but thats not for 2024 thinking!
My time at the gym and especially the second half of this year has been great too. I feel far fitter than I ever have, I've been able to build my core, which as any wheelchair user will know is a neglected wasteland, my stomach is flatter and my posture feels better too. I've even developed exercises for my ankles and legs too. So theres a long way to go but there have been immediate results.
Anyway, how has it been for you? Will 2024 be better?
Michael
