Alternatives to joggers
Discussion
I have turned into a slob. I blame Covid and the lockdown.
I live in joggers. I WFH three days a week so it’s the comfy choice, and they are great in this cooler weather. The issue is, I wear them out the house. This is unacceptable. I wear them to do the nursery run. The girls didn’t recognise when I turned up in my more formal work wear. The other mums run a mile.
What are the alternatives. Must be comfy. Must be acceptable to leave the house.
Jeans don’t really work round the house, and neither do chinos really.

Get those joggers that look like jeans or chinos.

Or wear chino’s with elastane in them that look like joggers

I think I’d get arrested entering the nursery. ecsrobin said:
I’ve not resorted to joggers but I’ve found various hiking trousers are baggy and comfortable to lounge around in and acceptable to leave the house in.
I think this may be the way to go. I used to wear Cragghopper walking trousers all the time. That was when my waist was 6” less. Our son 18 wears joggers all the time (except when he used to go to school but now he schools at home)
I've (70) never worn joggers in my life, hate them, wear jeans in either blue or preferably black.
My FiL (86) has taken to wearing joggers, even going out, elasticated cuffs, white socks, appropriate footwear for the weather. TBH he looks bloody stupid but don't tell him I said so as he's obviously comfortable and happy.

Na, that is too much work. You have to change when you come back, hang up the trousers etc.
And wearing elasticated chinos around the home is too much work. Comfy, but toilet breaks are more involved than they should be.
I’m definitely with the op, that joggers are the way forwards. If you settle on a style and fit that work well, you won’t look completely chavvy. Lol.

I do always wear my Seamaster when I leave the house in them, to make me feel a little better. Also wore them once with my Classic Bedale. Never again. And wearing elasticated chinos around the home is too much work. Comfy, but toilet breaks are more involved than they should be.
