Yeah, years ago I worked in a cinema as a teen. They introduced this spicy coated peanut warmer in the concession stand. It had a massive warning on the front that it may, MAY, contain nuts. Err. It's fking supposed to contain nuts.

Of course, this is the cue for Pedantic Man™ to raise himself to his full 5' 7" and remind everyone that peanuts are not nuts but legumes.

Slightly off topic but I thought these toilet signs in Norway stated the ‘bleeding obvious’. They just made it easy for everyone whatever their language. Don’t know why the pictures uploaded the wrong way around but . . .

This is very true. My daughter loves nuts but is allergic to peanuts. She has always enjoyed carrot cake, which is almost always made with walnuts. Except for some cafe in NZ that decided to use peanuts instead. Fortunately my daughter’s peanut allergy isn’t that bad and she was just uncomfortable for a while (and I got to eat all of the carrot cake, not just half!)

Is that real or faked? Surely no-one thought that was reasonable, not even an American lawyer.

Or it's a bit of haw-haw humour by the company.

I reckon losing eight marks because the country of origin wasn't filled in is a bit steep....

Would be more amusing if the same sign hadn't been there on the same escalator the two times I've been to the smoke recently weeks apart. Clearly not been escalated enough

But, meanwhile, back in the Stating the Bleeding Obvious Dept, amongst other things the label states:

Roasted Peanuts
Ingredients: Roasted Peanuts
May contain traces of peanuts.

Reminds me of the joke: Escalators are never "out of order". When they stop, they just become stairs.

I'm happy to walk down a non working escalator, but don't like walking up as I'm usually wearing flip flops, they can be a bit trippy.

I remember seeing a product recall advert for Lidl in a newspaper, for a tin of Sardines.

Reason it was being recalled was because the ingredients did not state "fish" as an ingredient.
