No, sadly 'Ernie' hasn't told me that my premium bonds have won the jackpot frown just some day dreaming hehe

Assuming you're mortgage-free (since I suspect most would pay that off) what would you do?

Invest in a classic car? Rental property? PARTAAAAY!? In trust for the kids?

Add to my existing millions….

More seriously there isn’t anything I particularly want in terms of material goods..

Genuinely struggling to think of anything.

Maybe give some to nephews and nieces, bung the rest into investments on the hope that the money will give me a better class of care home if it gets to that point.

I'm mortgage free as of December last year, so I'd

Jack work in
Re-do the Bathroom and Ensuite (myself)
Lay new patio (myself)
Get a new car to value of £20-£25K
Buy the missus a new car, max £10k
Buy a property to renovate at my leasure
Gym 5 days a week
Cycle at least 3 times a week
I've got a mate who's semi retired so I'd hang around at his 'helping' to fix his racing car (not that he'd been keen to have me hanging about!)

The wife might have other ideas of the above?!

Clear the mortgage, change the wife's car. Should still have ~£880,000 left after that - invest it for a better retirement. Maybe change to a less stressful job as a result of no longer having a mortgage, or needing to worry about my pension...

Buy a few treats for myself and the wife/kids, big holiday for whole family (eldest getting to age where he won't be coming much longer) clear the mortgage and then bank it/invest it for future/retirement etc.

One third in property, one third in stocks and shares, one sixth in cash savings, one sixth on wine, women and amateur dramatics (or a fk off amazing car).

I'd retire now (at 45) but otherwise more or less continue to live a similar lifestyle. The difference would obviously be less stress and more time for hobbies.

I'd buy the house I want outright (probably something around £600-700k around here) and invest the rest for the future. I would be in work as usual, I don't even think I'd change the car as I'm very happy with what I have for the time being. Other than being mortgage-free and with a nicer property, nothing else would really change.

Assuming the mortgage has gone I'd probably retire, but assuming I didn't I would work as hard as I do, I'd probably take a lesser job and have an easy life as I don't think I'm ready to jack in completely.

I'd love to chuck some money on a new car and bike, buy the wife her dream car, if I did that I reckon I'd have spent £500K already. Probably build a new garage with a few rooms above and the rest would either invest in property and have a bit for some amazing holidays.

Chuck it all into BTC or ETH and wait for it to be worth more.

Keep it quiet and carry on working.

Give my brother 200k

Get a full medical check.

Get teeth sorted

Buy a slightly nicer boat than I'm already planning (12k now but make it 25k)

Few rentals (3 or 4) and invest the rest.

Retire abroad at around 55-60.
