Another eBay question – using couriers for overseas shipping
Discussion
PH ought to have it's own subforum eBay and FB selling but anyway...
I'm setting up an auction for a fairly valuable item and allowing bids from the UK and western europe only. Shipping will need to be by courier. How do I indicate what shipping charges will be without knowing where it might end up? I looked at the Global Shiupping Programme but this thing might end up exceeding their maximum values – I hope so anyway. I've never auctioned or sent anything valuable (or heavy) before.
Can't find anything on eBay that explains this scenario.

I'll start by saying I won't ship abroad anymore unless it is with the GSP service due to previous issues with a number of European countries and Australia.
When I did used to do it myself eBay would ask me to provide a postage quote for the relevant country when the sale ended, not sure if this is still the case. For some reason Italy in particular was a bad country for parcels never arriving, also had an issue with Poland.
I've had a couple of GSP parcels go missing but eBay has always covered the cost on those.
