Audio recording device - voice activated

OK, my phone doesn't cut it. I need a device that can be voice activated, discreet but clear sound etc.

This essentially is to protect me and my wife whilst parenting (i.e. telling off) a challenging and increasingly manipulative teen.

A friend used this to record conversations in his house when he wasn't there. Audio clarity was very good.
