Unusual 50cent (Euro) coin

I’m wondering if anyone can shed any light on this 50c coin we got in some change?

The pic doesn’t show it too well, but it very shiny with an orange / golden hue around the circumference. Before I go and buy a can of coke with it, I was wondering if it could be something of value? Or if anyone knows of any pressings with such an error? Of course it also could have been passed through god knows what!

Perfectly normal german 50ct. coin... probably the most seen anywhere. Germany now do dozens of different german state coins...
