Whilst shopping for a new coat today I vaguely recalled that Go Outdoors would price match and then take off 10% if the same item could be purchased elsewhere.

The outcome
£150 coat reduced in store to £110.00
Found online for £69.99
Purchased from the store for £63.00

Any where else with price match that you can think of?

John Lewis price matched a cooker/range for my sister, from what she said it was a pretty straight forward process and they knocked hundreds off the price as well.

Halfords are very good for this.

Stories of people saving £100 on Yuasa batteries are not uncommon.

Very handy as batteries tend to be urgently needed so no need to weigh up the savings cost/ time for it to arrive.

Currys.

My local independent TV/Hi-fi shop also price match but that probably isn't much use to you unless you live in the area (Worcs)

Good thrread (should change the title for those looking)

I've had some bargains from GoOutdoors. There are always people looking at their phones to find a better price.
Easy to do as well.

Go outdoors is owned by JD Sports, who put them into administration a couple of years ago, and then bought the wreckage back stiffing a lot of suppliers.

If you don't pay for your stock, you can sell it cheap.

Cotsworld have always been really expensive. Good service, range, and very knowledgeable staff though so thats good to know.

If you are a member of Scouts, LDWA, and other you'll also get a discount but never offered.

Go outdoors are a scummy operation, I know they know I know that their closing down sale is until they open again tomorrow. It’s a bit like euro car parts, you never want to buy anything as there is a good chance it’ll be cheaper tomorrow with that weeks codes

We used to visit the Southampton one a lot because we had young kids etc

It’s really gone down hill since before covid, sad times really

They only have half a dozen outlets in the UK but price match can be done online too according to T&C's.

John Lewis only recently reintroduced their Never Knowingly Undersold bull.

Mrs V & I were after a Smeg cooker. We found one cheaper, but the lady said they had to submit it for approval, if they price matched they would call us and tell us to come back in and reorder it. Errr.... no thanks, so we bought from the original cheaper place.
