A nice thank you for being a great neighbour card and a £50 gift card for the local garden centre?

This, or, if you're one of those strange people that has to give a gift, gardening gloves,? Easily stored if not wanted. TBH your idea of card with a personal message sounds the best idea to me smile

A pot planted-up with spring bulbs would probably be appreciated.

You sound like you care for her. What about a lovely personal message in a card as suggested. But, maybe in a few months time get in touch or knock on her door and treat her to lunch. It’s so easy to drift apart over time and if you’re sincere on being supportive turn up and stay in her life.

You’ll then find out if she needs help as it’s unlikely she’ll be in touch for support if you’re not around.

A nice card with message with a nice indoor plant would be appreciated at a guess. Deliver by hand.

Frozen sausages and a hammer?
I've seen this "forum meme" a lot over the years. What's its origin?
Dont know exact post, but a few years ago, on looking for revenge tips for a truculent neighbour, poster was told 'hammer some frozen sausages in the lawn at night when noone will see you' - thinking being the local foxes would dig up the persons lawn smile

I'm only dimly aware of what this is. Is it like the outside bit at B&Q?
Yes but with less dead stuff. You’ll probably have a couple of decent local ones in the outskirts of town. Dobbies is a national chain and do vouchers, but probably not as good as local independents.

We give our neighbours hampers at Christmas, if I were leaving I’d do that same for that, but a nice card and a voucher sounds like an equally good idea!

Arrange a day when she will be in and take a boxed afternoon tea round. Sit and have it with her

IIRC it was a reference to how you get get revenge on a neighbour. If you hammer frozen sausages into their lawn then the wildlife will destroy the lawn to get to the sausages, or worst case they go rotten and smell?

Invite her out to a pub lunch. Collect her on the day and make sure she has a double G&T to go with her food choice/s.

Exactly that. Many, many, many moons ago - but a neighbour who actively tried to destroy my life. Attempted to cause issues with my landlord, employer, the council, everything - all for the indignity of having a fairly young lad living next door (and genuinely not being a prick as hard as that might be to believe!).

He was also the type to be out in summer trimming his front lawn with scissors...

Seaside/rural village, with plenty of foxes/badgers/hedgehogs/seagulls. Middle of summer.

I'm not proud, but fk me it gave me the satisfaction of revenge for the grief he caused me...

Yep, and no evidence. One because he was a raving curtain twitcher - but more importantly it was long enough ago that phone cameras weren't a thing!

Back on topic, but as a keen gardener there's a wealth of opportunity for gifts.

Everything from a garden centre voucher, to a nice plant/shrub in a pot, through to some nice 'everyday' tools like trowel/fork or a decent set of secateurs.

Take her for afternoon tea at a nice local garden centre. Have a catch up and maybe get a few bits for her garden.
