I need a new suit for forthcoming job interview, and then ongoing occasional wear for business.

I work for and the interview is for a charity, and in an area of work where being uber smart is not needed often.
I'm more on the powerfully built company director side of things.
I would rather classic and understated.
I will be wearing black shoes.
I've long legs.
I do like a touch of colour.
I'm open to a tweed jacket.
I don't need/want a waistcoat.

I haven't got a huge budget (see working for a charity....). Maybe £300 tops.

I'm in Scotland, so Slaters is one option.
Where else to look?

I was thinking Slaters all the way through your post and then you mentioned them.

Slaters give good value. They have a range of German made suits, these are worth checking out.

Probably a bit uncool now but I used to buy two pairs of trousers for each jacket, I used to wear out a pair of trousers but the jacket was like new, alternative the trousers weekly.

Yep, as above and as per your opening post, Slaters all the way.

And good luck with the interview too.

Do you mean these slaters or a different slaters?

They’ve got a store in Edinburgh (grass market I think) and I was very impressed with the quality and fit when I looked around in January.

We/I mean Slaters which is not as well-to-do as WalkerSlater

Cheers folks.
I've only ever owned two suits before - one I was married in and one I've still got but don't fit anymore. It's my 30th wedding anniversary this year. So suit buying isn't a thing I'm used to...

Slaters it is.
