I live in a cul de sac so you get to know the comings and goings of neighbours.

In one of the houses is a family of 5 including a toddler and twin teenagers (boy and girl). Firstly I see no evidence that the twins go to school (they are about 14) i.e. no leaving the house at 8:30ish, no coming home at 3:30ish, deliveries of McDonald's mid morning, etc. Home schooling could an option but very unlikely as both the adults leave the house during the morning too.

Secondly, through the day you see the twin boy and about 3 or 4 mates, open the garage door, get out their e-bikes, don full face balaclavas and duffle bags and go off. I'm sure it's not to deliver food to the elderly!

I know I could/should mind my own business but is there anything I can about this? Is it just the case of calling the police although I have no evidence that anything illegal is going on. Incidentally, the police have paid this family a visit on a few occasions but they never answer the door!

Obviously anything I do needs to do anonymous for fear of reprisals.

Thoughts (apart from "you're noisy old bugger who should mind his own business"!).

My thoughts would be "don't touch that with a bargepole". They probably are nominally homeschooled. There are no checks on what education the parents are providing.

All sorts of things could be going on. They could be "homeschooled", they could be playing truant, they could be excluded but waiting for a place at another school (this can take over a year without anyone giving them work), they could have medical reasons why they can't attend school in person (real or made up, if made up the parents could be complicit or themselves duped).

The average school absence rate is one day per pupil per fortnight so very high.

Don't get involved, if they are meant to be at school there will be records of it by the school anyway and if required the school will notify social services.

They sound scummy but not worth you getting involved.

Have a bit of empathy, they're not getting the best start in life.

Don't stick your neck out, it would be easy for them to make your life hell.

None of your business really, find yourself a hobby.

Tricky one

If you know what school they are at you could 141 call them and inform them

I would consider it trying to help them

I imagine the answer is homeschooling officially or expelled. Nothing you can do really.

Just call social services. They may know the family anyway but it's still useful info and might give the younger one a chance.

On the upside if you get robbed by a gang of masked scrotes on e-bikes you know where to start looking.
