This morning i moaned to Mrs C that yesterday I had Petula Clark's Downtown in my head all day. By saying it, I set it off again. Idiot.

I was going to call the thread 'Self-Inflicted wounds' but realised it might take a darker turn than I intended.

Not the worst song to have an earworm over. Since the passing of the late great Brian Wilson I've had "Don't Worry Baby".

Jurassic park theme tune. I probably find myself humming it a few times a month and I haven't seen any of the films in over a decade

I had a tiny concrete repair to do on the patio and bought a bag of Ready-to-use concrete. Put a bit in bucket, added water and stirred. Ah, too much water. Added some mix. Too dry. Added some water. Too wet. By the time I got the mix right I had enough for concrete boots. You know, if there's anyone you need disposing of.

In the car and my daughter mentioned she hated the song Pink Pony Club by Chapell Roan. Started humming it to annoy her. Now a firmly wedged ear worm. Not a good look for a 40yr old married man.

on a thread yesterday about the rhyl monorail, someone posted a link to 'rhyl life' website.

yesterday this meant a modified version of 'street life' was the earworm. today it has changed to the slightly more palatable 'park life'.

The heat shield above the rear silencer box had come loose and was clonking. My get-by repair was to stick it back in place with good old fashioned GunGum. It worked a treat. The heat shield has remained firmly in place.

smile

But the clonk is now ten times worse.

frown

I've no idea what I've done.

I stuck a metal kick plate down with superglue that had come adrift and pressed it down to stick with a micro cloth.

I ended up with a stuck down kick plate and a bright pink micro cloth stuck to the kick plate.

The fashion for upholstered kick plates started here.

I forgot to mention the forefinger and thumb stuck together as well.

Go through the entire song in your head you should find it stops happening - works for me anyway.

Another earworm killer - play through in your head the windows XP shutdown jingle every time the earworm appears. It interrupts the flow and kills it dead.

I regularly wake up with a random song in my head for no reason, this morning it was I'm So Excited by the Pointer Sisters, yesterday it was Gimme Shelter by the Rolling Stones.
I have spotify linked to Alexa so a quick "Alexa, play I'm So Excited" while I make my breakfast plays the earworm and then picks something else of a similar genre to follow it.

Asked my Mum if she wanted anything from the local Indian shop as I was popping in to get my favourite nibbles this afternoon.

She asked for Poppadums, all the way there my brain kept replaying "Poppadums or Bread?! Poppadums or Bread?!"

Anyone else listen to a certain podcast? #OffMenu

Hold my beer . . .

I'm ashamed to say the opening riff of Shinobi vs. Dragon Ninja still re-enters my head reasonably regularly.
