Just spotted this morning outside my house attached to a streetlamp.

Not a busy 30mph road, only a few houses opposite a nature reserve so would seem odd to be a traffic monitoring thingy, only one streetlamp has it fitted.

Any ideas?

Related to water meters? Shimmy up the lamppost and see what's written on it smile

Just googled the smart meter thing, looks like that could be it as there are a few different designs of them.

Dammit, I had just made tin foil hats for me and my neighbours as well.

Used to be a chalk mark on the ground, then came the cable tie around a lamppost.

Technology marches on….

Now you can identify which dog to snatch by using an app in the comfort of your own caravan.

No more wasted journeys in your van. No more lurking at the end of a street.

Noin punds noindy noin a month, so tis.

"The white units on top of the lanterns are known as telecells and are used for operating the street light and recording operating hours for paying for electricity," the spokesman said."There are many thousands of these lights across the county."

In regards to the appearance of the white mono-pole antennas, the county council spokesperson said: "They are being deployed on Warwickshire County Council streetlights by Severn Trent Water for their water metering."
