When I joined PH I loved the vibe Ted had created just out of seemingly wanting to do a good (niche) car thing. At that time I respected the people who were in on that car thing way longer than me.

I have seen posts celebrating being on PH for two decades and more and then thinking - yeh I'll do that when my time comes.

I see that the 20 years thing on PH passed me by 8 months ago, I still love cars but in a VERY different way to 20 years ago.

As an aside I went out for a curry with my bestie last night who said that he doesn't drive his M4 hardly at all and I said I bought my XK to go on drive holidays but haven't done so yet. It seems the wives will be left alone shortly while hopefully we take our cars into Europe next year.

Two decades - where did they go?

How have your two decades on PH changed OR where do you think your car love will be at in two decades time if you have just got into your first "PH" car?

I have no idea where my car love will be in another 20 years or even if cars, as we know them, for personal transport will still exist... or me for that matter.

I am none too sure that I can remember accurately what PH was like when I first joined... or me for that matter. smile

15 years 6 months for me. Could barely give a toss about cars now, but like some of the other areas of PH such as music and pedal powered. Funny how things change.

Just three months away for me. I wouldn't have been aware of the grand occasion without this thread.

Missed mine it seems.

Enjoy a sporty motor, currently got a Sagaris but have a long time hankering for something Rolls Royce from the 1930's. Just an itch I need to scratch once I can sort out some garage space.

I’m over 20 years and in that time I’ve gone from having a large mortgage and aspiring to own a wonderful car collection to having cleared the mortgage and given up work whilst also having nice cars but not the wonderful car collection I once wanted. My fun car is a 981 boxster S which while no GT3 is plenty fast and fun enough, and certainly great in terms of value for money. I don’t need the fastest, flashiest and latest as I may have once aspired to and am very content as i am.

In fact new cars don’t excite me like they once did and I think 2005-2015 was probably peak car.
