My ex-FiL died some years ago and changed his will after his wife and my ex fell out with him.

They (him and my MiL) owned a villa in Spain and before he died he changed the will to leave the villa, or his share to his niece.

We thought he took his grandkids out of any inheritance but the MiL and my ex wife have the will. They sent me a copy of a page and asked if I knew what it means to them.

I’m stumped, especially with the second bit. Can anyone explain in layman’s terms what this means please?

Doesn't it just mean that if the niece dies before he does the grandchildren get her bit?

Just put it through ChatGPT…

Basically, if she dies before the FiL, the grandkids get it.
A moot point now, he died in 2012.

There should be a separate Spanish will for the property there

That looks the same format as my Spanish will. Spanish on the left, English translation on the right and formatted the same with the first, second etc.

That's correct, it's on the left hand page.
