It used to be so simple.
Buying/winning a number of items (auction, only bidder) from the same seller, each listed separately with their own P&P.
How does a seller combine/reduce postage costs as they're bundling everything up in one parcel?
Don't need to be paying £2.77 P&P on every item when they'll all fit in one small parcel.

If it's a non business seller, i think it depends how they setup the listing. Some require immediate payment which means you cant request combined postage, but if they haven't you can normally request a combined postage invoice from the seller by commiting to buy the items.
I had this last week when i needed 2 bits for my 205 GTI from 1 seller - both items had postage listed as £6. Thankfully seller hadn't asked for immediate payment so i was able to add both items to my basket and proceed to checkout. Once there, i found a tab which gave me the opportunity to request an invoice from the seller, with a text field to explain the request to the seller. Once i'd filled that out I got a pop up message stating that by sending the request i was commiting to buy the items and the seller would respond within 48hours. After clicking send both items showed as listing ended / sold.
Next day i received an invoice from the seller for just 1 postage charge and requesting payment in the next 24hours.
