Idiocity - do you just have to go with the flow.

I despair I really do, I meet lots of idiots in my line of work, I really do. how do people cope when they have this problem, do you sit there shaking your head in disbelief or is it just a question of go with the flow.
The latest is today regarding a delivery, I ordered some stuff I need for work tomorrow, I knew it was coming today so organised the job for the following day, now normally Amazon, DPD etc just leave the stuff on the doorstep or down the side of the house and everything works out fine, if it goes missing then I'll take the hit although it hasn't happened yet in years.
This time though it was a different courier and he or she has left the parcel with a neighbour next door (yes the fat ones with the trampoline) I didn't ask them to do this and they have taken it upon themselves to do it. However the idiocy comes not from the delivery guy but the neighbour, pretty much as soon as the parcel was delivered the neighbour went out and as of 9.45PM tonight the house is still in darkness and they are still out.
Why would you be so stupid as to take a parcel in for someone and then not be around to let them collect it. How do they know how desperate I am for the stuff, and if they do go out why not just put it on my door step where they must have seen plenty of other parcels left. Knowing my luck they have probably cleared off on holiday for two weeks.

does anyone genuinely wait in especially for a parcel? I've had Amazon deliveries for well over 10 years now and never waited in for any of them and I think I've got all of them so far. I do occasionally take in parcels for other neighbours as well and I find I always have to take them round to them otherwise they would sit in my hall for days.That's the other side.
My point though was putting up with idiots, how do folk do it, I just want to clear off and go home and leave them to it most of the time. Idiocity is everywhere nowadays, from the second you get up in the morning you are confronted with thickos, they step out in front of your car, they give you the wrong thing in the shop, send you to the wrong place, give you the wrong codes for doors and locks, say they will meet you at such a time and place and then go somewhere totally different, and so on and so forth. I'm amazed most people even make it through the day.

I'm with you on this. They were kind enough to look after it for you. They could have said no. It's your responsibility to get it when they're in, even if it takes a few attempts. Of course they shouldn't have to stay in until you pick it up. That's some serious entitlement right there.dibblecorse said:

I must think differently to most people, I would only ever take a parcel in for someone if I knew I was around for that day, I certainly wouldn't go out for more than an hour or so. If they didn't collect it by the end of the day then its a different matter.
