Where to Shop for Prom Suit for Teenager?

In London, Thames Valley, or South Coast?

My son’s school determined that GCSEs alone were insufficiently stressful, so also require the teenagers to ‘earn’ points to be allowed to attend Prom (which they still have to pay for!).

Anyway, my son has scraped over the line, despite multiple 90 seconds late instances in the past term.

So he needs a suit, and I’m looking forward to a bit of shopping over Half Term.

He’s 6’3” but very slim so I don’t think finding one at preferably sub-£150 will be easy? A few years ago I would have started (and probably finished!) at Camden Market, but - apart from food - I’m not impressed by the place any longer. I get virtually all my clothes from EBay, but I’m boggo standard size!

Any suggestions for where to look? Thanks!

Another vote for slaters menswear. Their staff are in my experience very good and they do free alterations to suits to get the best fit so a better service than walking into say M&S or Next.
You will likely end up paying more like £2-250 though

Slaters are good.
Mey experience of 6'2" and super skinny was Next do a good range of super slim and long. Trousers that were 28" waist and 33" leg for example. It's not thier whole range.

Our local place rents. I think it's an independent (AF Joy in Wareham if you're near by!) and they got it in. Bought shoes and a nice shirt.

Yep, M&S was fine for our 6’4” but slim-ish (90kg) son.
There was a range they had that had unfinished trousers and they took them up in shop (Bromley) while we were there which was helpful.

Next have a surprisingly good range and they increase it for school prom season, and should fit with the sub £150 budget.

Thanks to those that suggested M&S. It shows how far they've slipped that they never occurred to me - despite getting all my school and starting work white shirts there 30-40 years ago. (The M&S stores in both the nearest town centres to me have closed, so it's still an excuse to go to London, and London will have more backup / fallback options),

Also going to try Slaters - I looked online as there are a couple of summer suits I quite fancy for me!

Is there a Skopes near you? Should be able to get a half decent suit there for around £120 which makes it far less painful when it comes home with drinks all down the jacket

That said, we got my son's prom suit from Shein. We know if would get ruined/grown out of within in hours so didn't see the point in spending big money.

As someone who regularly attended formal events in my younger years I recommend this. It will probably be absolutely trashed after one wear. Usually a combination of barbed wire and vomit. Sometimes blood, pond water, friction abrasions, etc. Happy days

Outcome: went to Slaters in Bromley today - brilliant place.

The teenager got a prom suit, I got a summer suit (unplanned - but it does look good).

And Bromley town centre was way nicer than I expected!
