Funniest 5 comedians ever?
Discussion
After reading a thread about comedians somewhere, I decided to rank the 5 funniest comedians we've ever had. I came up with 4, then struggled to come up with a fifth who I would rank at the same level. My four, in no particular order, are Sean Lock, Billy Connelly, Robin Williams and Norm McDonald,
I think it’s an impossible task as it’s linked far too much ti personal taste. All comedians have a style and a preferred subject area and if you like that combination you will like that persons act. Anyone who is a historic comedian now is also looked upon in different lights by some people in terms of what is acceptable then and what is acceptable now etc. there is no way of coming up with a definitive five and this thread will descend into “my favourites” and will be divisive. I can see people already going to go after the likes of Dave Chappell being mentioned
Chappelle for an all rounder if you just want to laugh, stand up, acting and sketches. Kat Williams everything he does is funny especially his older stuff - IMO on a level with DC.
Harry Enfield for his sketch work back in the day - unbeatable and always funny.
My personal favourite though is Mitch Hedburg was really good. 75% garbage 24% funny 1% total genius that no one else can get close too.
Emo Philips is also incredible but needs effort.
Jay Oakerson is highly under rated IMO but he likes to drag a 20 min set out to an hour.
