Anyone else notice this?

I live in Sheffield and last night (20th June) just before 10pm whilst sat out in my garden I noticed the daylight had a beautiful purple tone to it, so I took some photos. I haven't noticed such stunning light like this before, I assume it was the sun setting? Hopefully the photos shows the beautiful light.

Yes, I've noticed that on the odd occasion here (SW Wales). A weird pinkish red light in the evening.

Desert dust from the Sahara blowing over can colour the sunset.

I first noticed when looking through the frosted/obscure window in our bathroom, a lovely purple/pink glow as if someone had turned on a very powerful coloured light outside. I went out into the garden to investigate and the light looked amazing

Correct, the red skies are directly connected to the heat wave, air is being pushed up from the Sahara currently
