Wellington boot socks

Last year I purchased a nice pair of wellingtons for log dog walks in the winter.
However, my socks kept falling down and having to stop all the time to pull the up was annoying.

Can anyone recommend a good to pair of wellington boot socks ?
I know it’s the middle of summer but it came up in a conversation the other day and want to grab a pair before winter. I was going to just order a pair of Barbour Wellington socks, but review say they fall down which is exactly what I don’t want.

Not really worried about the warmth as my boots are warm.

I don't like welly socks for the same reason.

I either wear a pair of longer than standard wet socks or a pair of normal socks with a pair of hiking/walking socks over them which keeps them in place.

I use elastic hold up things my wife made for me.
I always very long socks in the winter as I believe if you want to keep warm you have to wear long socks.
My socks never fall down.

On a related note can anyone recommend a pair of wellingtons that have closures at the top to stop mud etc from going down them? It's usually cloth with laces or elastic to tighten them

And if they could be at the lower end of the Pistonheads pricing scale please

Yes, they are expensive but they are the warmest socks I've ever tried and they stay up around your calves with no issues. I've worn a pair on 15 mile winter hikes and never had an issue with slipping or bunching up.

Sometimes you really do get what you pay for.

I've had Aigle Parcours for about 8 years, they are just showing signs of cracks in the rubber (not on seams). Absolutely brilliant, used for dog walks twice a day for the last 4 years too. I'll be buying another set in a couple of months. Not too pricey, especially for how good they are and last. Top closure clasp too.

Sailing-ish wellies often have the cloth closure - but also slicker and non-marking light coloured soles so you will slip around more.

I have a pair of Hoggs of Fife field sport wellies that are partly neoprene with a buckle closure. I can't say I have ever had mud etc in there, only overtopped with water a couple of times. Usually sub £50 and regularly on Vinted for a lot less - mine were brand new and £25 on there.
