All words are "made up" but obstropolous was made up in the 17th century and bodacious in the 19th so neither particularly recent inventions.

Expostulations is the wrong word.

Not sure the OP has nailed it here to be honest, obstreperous is a real word, and obstropulous just sounds like a misunderstanding.

Like when people say pacifically when they mean specifically, that sort of thing.

At least I tried.

Launching threads is a lonely business. It's just you versus the whims of others you may never meet. Some (threads, not people you may never meet) take off, some founder never to be visited again.



However, in the case of obstropolous, the seventh (7th) post said it was coined in the seventeenth (17th) century.

We'll struggle on for a bit and see how it goes.
