Do you bulk buy? Occasional trip to Costco, getting a whole carcass from a butchers, get your wine by the case?
I don't have the freezer capacity for a whole cow and I don't have the wallet for half a dozen cases of champagne. But if I see a bargain I will splash as much as I can justify and enjoy reaping the benefits over time.

I bulk buy wine, beer and cider.
Usually 24 bottles of wine at a time from Majestic.
Beer and cider depends on what deals I find in the supernarkets.
I usually do most of this when I visit England. Usuallycend up there twice a year at least
Living in Scotland and MUP being a thing with no bulk buy deals allowed either it makes alcohol worth the purchase when you go down south.
I did do a proper bulk buy last time I was driving in France too as it was cheaper than the UK.

Mrs V. The Vikingettes and their friends can seemingly demolish a whole pack a week as pee cannot touch their fingers and that's not what a sink next to the toilet is for, to like wash their hands....

Single man here, pretty much all shopping in Costco (£400 just last week in fact)
I buy everything in bulk from there, squash to meat to toilet rolls, saves having to shop regularly, the meat is much better quality than supermarkets and almost everything else is cheaper too.
Also have a Bookers card, but don't go there as often

Ooh I do love a Costco run. Gallon of Mayo! And yeah - the meat is really good. We're probably good for the next six months on shower gel, deodorant and probably a year's worth of razors.
Some deals aren't worth the bother though. OH cam back from the pet store with a mahoosive sack of Cannigan's Dog Food which worked out about a tenner cheaper than the usual size we get but the only place it can go is in the garage.

A local farm / farm shop sometimes does a half-price offer on a pork box which I'll jump on to put in the freezer. Was £35 back in 2025, £40 this year but still good value IMO. The pork shoulder alone is usually approaching £25.

Thai Jasmine rice from the very nice, affable and chatty Mr Raj in Ipswich, 20kg at a time but if there's rumours of a poor harvest or increase in prices, 2 x 20kg which normally runs me around £55 give or take, which will last us for 4 months roughly.
I also bulk buy from the local butcher, pork hock for crisping in the air fryer after a slow cook, ribs, pork shoulder and chicken breasts . Chicken wings, thighs and drumsticks I buy from Tesco, mostly wings as they're about £2.50 a bag, again, 1kg in the air fryer for half hour, then add Jamaican BBQ sauce and tuck in.
