The phantom royal mail
Discussion
I had a picture of my item at the front door delivered. It was shown at a time I was painting the front porch so double odd.
I argued quite a bit before I found my son had picked the item up and put it in my garage. The picture was from a camera with the wrong date, as it had been successfully delivered the day before the photo date .
Keep up at the back.

We tried to deliver at 1548 and nobody was in.
Utter pack of lies as I was.
Is this a numbers trick to get with SLA?

"We could not access your property".
Really? Its a house, with a drive and front garden. There's no gate or fence. Its completely open.

I've had the same when I was at the front of the house cleaning the car for an hour either side of the "we tried to deliver time". I knew the to be signed for package was coming so was looking out for the postie's van. Went inside to check the tracking to see where it was and got the message that they had tried to deliver an hour earlier and nobody was in. The van hadn't even been in the street!
It's frustrating when you can't speak to someone to complain about it. In the past you used to be able to call the actual delivery office and speak to the delivery office manager to sort stuff like this out.
Now after waiting for ever in a queue the person you speak to at the call centre is no help at all. Ask them to explain why somebody is not telling the truth and they don't know what to say.

Excepting Evri drivers who seem to take incompetence to new and unparalleled heights, couriers seem to be all the same.
Had two deliveries at work from FedEx yesterday. The first parcel the driver had previously left cards for two delivery attempts. He was quite apologetic, stating that he was unable to leave the parcel with reception (we have a unit in a building with a reception) as the receptionist refused to sign for the parcel. Fair enough, I wasn't around for the delivery on the first two attempts.
The second parcel I didn't find until I checked tracking. It said "delivered", so I went to find it and it was dumped in the corridor outside our unit. I'd been in all day, the door was unlocked. No one had even knocked.
Value of fist parcel: £50
Value of second parcel: £15,500.
I starting to suspect that one of the key job requirements for a courier must be the ability to act with a complete disregard for logic.

Couriers work long days and get paid absolutely f
k all. In any other job that will get you the bare minimum. Not sure why anyone thinks it would be different for couriers. BrokenSkunk said:

A parcel of that value delivered without a signature and photo ? I find that hard to believe.Had two deliveries at work from FedEx yesterday. Believe or disbelieve what you want. I can not prove it. I've tried requesting POD, I get a pdf that states "Signature release on file." Neither parcel had the value marked on it. Both parcels should have had a signature.
Why do you think I would bother to lie?

I suspect its a way to skew some sort of metric/KPI for failed deliveries.
Also had several tracking numbers that haven't worked until the item was actually delivered.

Evri is highly dependent on the local guy (obviously); thankfully our local driver is absolutely great but at our last house the Evri driver was stealing parcels and dumping the boxes over a wall (including unopened parcels he couldn’t be bothered to deliver). I was waiting for a head unit that made it all the way from China before being stolen by him. Our current driver said they when they are busy they basically employ anyone as a contractor without any checks. When we moved here the property had been unoccupied for a year and it’s in the countryside (there are three West Lodges within 2 miles just to add to the confusion). I normally consider DPD to be one of the better couriers but one driver in particular mis-delivered around 10 parcels to random addresses until I finally caught up with him. Every time I saw his name my heart sank.
