How many hours on your phone a day?
Discussion
That is a lot!
I've just checked my phone and longest time over the last few weeks has been 6 hrs.
Most days it is between 2 and 4 hours. somedays less than 2.
And, just to add, I thought I was on my phone a lot.
Having said that, I do browse and do other stuff on my laptop as well, so you could probably add another hour a day during the week. Still not even getting close to your 10 hours a day though.

I'm the same OP. Use the phone way more than I would like.
My solution has been to use the time limit function. Socials are set to 1hr and Youtube to 1 hr. Once the time runs out I do my best not to look at any of those again until the next day. Add any app that you are tempted to scroll through, to the list.
Works ok for the most part. Although I do slip up sometimes.
I try to do other things now, Violin, Guitar, reading, walk the dog or watch some TV.
Social media is very bad for the brain.

This thread will be a race to gleefully tell us how little time people spend on their phone. Social Media, never heard of it!
FYI mine is 2-4hrs a day it seems. Don't ask me to say how much of that is on PH!
TX.
Thing is that the same stuff can be done but not on a phone. I spend very little time on my phone but lots of time with my laptop switched on beside me when I watch TV. Though that means that when I'm anywhere outside my living room in my home, I'm pretty much never distracted by anything that isnt actually around me in real life. FYI mine is 2-4hrs a day it seems. Don't ask me to say how much of that is on PH!

A slightly different but related topic is that I went to support charity runners in the rather brilliant Royal Parks half marathon the other week and lots of the runners in the race where listening to earphones. So they were in the middle of London with tens of thousand of people cheering them on and they were listening to earphones. I'm guessing it was pre-recorded music, but clearly don't know for sure. That struck me as odd.
Intrigued as to why you would be on your phone for over 10 hours a day - if you are using screens that much why not use a bigger screen? Or do you simply spend a lot of time on calls?
Personal 'screentime' weekly average is 1h18, but I do spend most days in front of a computer screen so overall screen time is probably similar, albeit most is work.
I read something recently to the effect that you spend your working day looking at a medium sized screen, taking breaks to look at a small screen, then you go home to relax whilst looking at a bigger screen. Depressing!

It s a mixture I think of work apps, calls, general surfing, Spotify and YouTube. Personal 'screentime' weekly average is 1h18, but I do spend most days in front of a computer screen so overall screen time is probably similar, albeit most is work.

The problem I think I have is it need to keep an eye on it for work then I don t put it back down quickly enough.

Mine (past week or so) is about 3 hours per day, but to be fair a lot of that is just keeping the screen / app on.. Like if I'm cooking I'll have a recipe on screen, or I might have a Teams call that I can listen in to while doing a couple of chores..
I deactivated Instagram and Facebook a few weeks ago, so i know for a fact my time has reduced massively (and I generally feel better since doing so)
