Harrison Ford, the mincer.

After seeing this picture i no longer see Harrison Ford in the same light.
As a kid i used to look up to him as the sandpaper faced hard rouge that wouldn't mince around with 'manbags' or make up (a hero if you will). Women wanted him and man wanted to be him and kids always wanted to play as him in StarWars games in the playground (sticks as lightsabers), not the wuss Luke.
But on seeing this picture of him donning an ear ring, i think that his missus needs a slap, Sheepheart or what ever her name is. What has she done to the once well hard, light-a-match on the beard guy? It couldn't have been his choice to actually put on in.
Or it could be a speck of dust on the photo, in which case heroism can return to norm.
Anyone else feel the same way?

But I totally agree. I remember there being a bit of a furore when he first appeared with it a few years ago, about the time that the stick insect got her hooks into him and I found it a bit distasteful and gay.
The cure for this is to just watch an early Indy film and forget about the real life persona. In fact, I find Harrison Ford pretty unbearable to watch when he isn't speaking lines from a script so I've tended to make an effort to avoid him off screen. ETA, I've just read this back and it makes it seem like I avoid him at parties and premieres etc. which is funny but inaccurate.
He really seems so so so dull and slow when forced to think of his own words to say yet seems to make a pretty good fist of saying someone else's. Weird, as I find a lot of actors to be quite interesting to watch being interviewed etc.

Well, that's the OP's point. If a bloke want's to wear earings to show he's gay, then that's OK but the whole point of Harrison Ford's screen image is that he is not a mincer. Anyone who is prepared to stick pieces of metal in his earlobe for the sake of pure fashion is also gay, but possibly doesn;t realise it yet.
I've never thought of HF as being gay, but that ear-ring looks utterly ridiculous. I feel almost embarrassed for him. But I do agree that he's one of the most boring old farts when interviewed and he's pretty much a clone of himself in any talking part in a movie, giving the impression that it's all too much trouble and he'd rather be doing something else. Probably the most over-rated 'actor' in the world and definitely not worthy of 'A-list' classification.
Harrison Ford has had the earring for several years now. I think he had it done when he turned 60, but I may have that wrong. Anyway it is not a new thing.
I don't think it suits him, but hey he is old enough to do what he likes and not care what anyone else thinks.
Meant to add that although I do enjoy the Indiana films I actually find him a bit boring as an actor, I just think he seems to play the same character in all his other films.
