Jewellers for antique wedding rings
Discussion
Should this be in here? who knows!
Anyway i have inherited my great grandmothers engagement ring which i wish to ask my other to marry me with.
Its 18ct gold, with 2 nice sized/shaped diamonds, but with a cheaper centre stone. This centre stone is only semi precious and a bit scratched- i have been asked by my mother to get the gem replaced- but i haven't got a clue how to go about this!
i do have a selection of loose gems which i know nothing about- can anyone point me in the direction of a jewellers in London that can identify and value these while i wait? i expect most of them to be worthless but there might be something useful in there!

'Gordon Marks' in Cobham, Surrey. They've made a number of pieces for me, sourced stones and nothing was too much trouble.
If you really want London, then try Holts in Hatton Garden. They have their own workshop and gem cutting school. Again, nothing's too much trouble and they can make you anything you want.
