Just been woken up by a large rumble of thunder at 04.37. Anyone else hear it?

Seems to be sitting south of West Sussex and east of the Isle of Wight. Can hear it clearly here in Worthing.

Yup, I've been awake since 6.30 ish. I wouldn't mind so much if the OH hadn't been snoring all bloody night long too.

I thought it was the end of the world at about 6 this morning ,I sleep through most things (including a BMW sliding up the road on its roof ) but christ that was loud this morning.

bah you guys shoud try a real Equitorial thunderstorm ... we get them almost every day and are incredible to watch the power of nature!!

Singapore has one of teh highest rates of lightening strikes in the world,

Just had the most awesome thunderstorm here in Shropshire. Proper shaking the house jobby. They're great fun when you're indoors, felt sorry watching the posty outside though!

Mystery solved.

I was woken up at 4 by what I thought to be rumbling thunder, but assumed it was my imagination. I'm in West Surrey.
