OP is PH your whole life?

It's Saturday! Why not go out and do something rather than sitting worrying about how many people are posting drivel on here?

Yes, you've got it in a nutshell, PH is my very existence. rolleyes

Some of us have to work, PH is a good way of breaking up the tedium between breaking websites and fixing them. I also prefer walking my dog 'off peak' when all the part timers are there getting in the way of us hardcore hound walkers. biggrin

Maybe if you work faster and browse PH less you can get out and do something interesting (not dog walking). Or are you in some kind of 'have to be there in case something happens' jobs?

Must agree.

I don't like the fact i pop into the lounge every now and again and it doesn't seem to have had many posts added. It's died.

I haven't even bothered looking in the other sub forums as I expect them to be similar....until the time I need medical advice for the clap or some such topic.

I've not been very vocal on the changes as I thought I'd see how they panned out and give it some time to settle down, but it is starting to look like a major own goal.

It's not an own goal, it was the plan.

You can see on a number of threads they wanted rid of a certain type of poster and didn't want PH a car based site to have as its main draw the P&P.

Job done.

Have you asked the mods to set-up a dog walking sub-forum?

I have to agree too.

I thought they must have known what they were doing when they changed it but it seems to have killed off the atmosphere and its so slow moving I can't get interested in what was the P&P in the same way.

On the plus side I got a little bit more done than I expected last week at work and have even been out and done weekend things I have put off for months biggrin

well, in that this is now a commercial enterprise, the money is made from 'hits'. if the number of hits has been reduced by restructuring, then it is indeed an own goal.

haymarket dont give a flying fiddly dee what the topic of conversations is about, as can be seen by the nature of some of the ads that flash up.

ph is no longer purely a car enthusiasts site, like it or not.

Surely hits will increase because there are more fora to be clicked on and that alone will create more. Or have I misunderstood internet terms?

Its always been a commercial enterprise. I thought I'd just clear that one up.

beg to differ. when i joined, it's focus was very much a tvr enthusiasts site.

there was the odd advert, but only for tvr related stuff, and i'm not sure they were there form the off either.

I pretty much stopped my use of P&P a while ago. I just pop by for a quick look but I'm unlikely to do even that now as the interest isn't there any more if you have to hunt through slowly decaying forums to find threads of interest.

Interesting- never thought about it like that.

TBH since the changes I've been frequenting a few sub-forums I wouldn't have done before. In the past I used to just trawl GG and TP&P so I would say this has broadened my horizons.

As ST says, PH has been gradually attracting more and more of a "certain type of poster", and perhaps it only takes 1 of them to drive several other posters away from the site. So I can understand their motivation from a commercial POV.

must admit that i wasn't that bothered about the change, but i find i hardly ever look at the p&p since it happened. only on it tonight as i'm stuck in a lagos hotel room waiting to come home tomorrow morning!

i enjoyed the ramdomness from thread to thread. but i agree that an element did come on here which tarnished it. but when you see some of the places PH is now advertised, it couldn't have come as a shock that they arrived.
