This might sound a bit strange, but I've almost always used electric razors to shave. My latest one failed on Friday, and I've wet shaved since. I found some triple-blade Wilkinson Sword jobbies in the cupboard, used some shaving foam and it wasn't as bad as I remembered. Maybe now I'm older my skin isn't so sensitive.

So how many times can you use one of these throwaway jobbies?

I shave 5 days a week and use a Mach3 thingy.

I treat myself to a new blade every Monday morning.

I`ve just read the above and realised what a sad existance my life has become.........

Wilkinson Quattro for me. I change the head every week.

I shave every day, because I'm a real man!

I once bought a BIC throwaway razor in Sri Lanka, and used it every day for six weeks, and it still cut perfectly!!!!!! I am convinced it was part of a batch of experimental everlasting prototypes, some super high grade steel, that they had made for poor countries. I only threw it away because I felt I ought to, though its last shave was as good as its first.

Really?!!!

Christ I use a new blade a day. As usually blunt by then.

This is when I am shaving every day. If don't need to be clean shaven, then I just use beard trimmer.

Safety razor every other day and I use a new razor blade each ten days roughly. Thankfully they cost pence.

Why do those things cost so much?
Do they really cost that much to make?

I always thought it funny that a pack of 4 blades cost around £10. But you could buy the razor and 2 blades for £1.99.

I change blade when I feel the hairs are being pulled out, rather than shaved off.

must be so, I buy a new razor every 6-9 months and shave 5 days a week... in fact, come to think of it... my current razor is 1 year old or so, and still on the original blade head...

the shave it gives is still smooth and clean, why chuck it away, methinks... smile

seems that i'm in the distinct minority here though - or perhaps you lot are all victims of marketing, or have really soft skin that can't take what is by now quite obviously blunt blades winkbiggrin

I use a double edged safety razor.

Each blade lasts around 1 - 2 weeks.

I don't understand the need for 5 blades for a close shave confused My single blade merkur has given me a closer shave than the fusion ever did..
