This our new puppy Poppy she is a lovely little Springerdor (Springer x Lab) she is 9 weeks old and a real handfull but loads of fun! I have feeling we may have the female version of 'Marley'. Looking forward to when she is toilet trained and doesnt wake us up 5 times a night though!

Very cute. Good decision on the crate training. So many people think its cruel to keep them in a "cage" rolleyes

She wines a little in the day (not all day) when she is in there but soon settles! but she hates it a night, hopefully she will get used to it! This puppy training lark is a lot harder than I though! still it will be worth it.

We cover our crates in old blankets - makes them feel more secure. The one she's in at the moment is a little on the large side for her at the moment.

You could try an old cardboard box in it that is just slightly larger than her.

Have you done the wear an old t-shirt for a couple of days and then put that in with her trick?

Gorgeous! When I first had my Cocker Spaniel puppy I used a crate and he loved it. I covered it with blankets - they don't relax if they think that someone might creep up behind them! Apparently. He is now 10months old and we've just got back from a walk - it poured down on us!! So we are both having a warm cup of tea!! Such characters puppies!

Have you tried the treats of bits of cheese and apple before you crate her at night?

Have to ask, why a treat of apple and cheese before bed, any benefit to these particular treats. Cheese is a really bad treat to start getting her into on a regular basis and it really shouldn't be necessary to start this habit. It won't be long before she'll expect it every night, I can't see the benefits so I wouldn't advise that if some one asked me at work.
