Just a quick one.
If two people (married couple) are named on the mortgage and you want to obtain buildings and contents insurance. Do you need to have the policy in joint names or can it just be in one persons name?

TBH it depends on the insurance broker. Usually the policy will be in one persons name then the partner will just be named on the policy as a joint policy holder or a insurance interest.

The mortgage company or building society will be named as a 'financially interested party' or 'mortgagee'

It shouldn't be a problem keeping you both named on the policy
or just the one person for that matter
