I'd counter that suggestion.

I've only eaten there once, and don't intend on returning!

Anything with '2 for 1' offers or 'childrens play areas' should be avoided at all costs.

So should Bracknell or Woking.

Pubs in Bracknell, around the town center.

The Running Horse (Hungry Horse) on a Saturday afternoon is a football pub, I would avoid if you don't want to put up with that.

The Royal Oak, Not been in for food but again a football pub, Saturday afternoon for a meal I wouldn't.

The Old Manor (Weatherspoons) cheap but not that cheerful, Standard weatherspoons, no football or atmosphere.

The Blue Lion.....NO JUST NO!

Horse & Groom (Harvester) Standard harvester. usually busy funny smell from the bar.

The Bridge, again more of a football pub but the food there is ok at best.

The Admiral, Nice pub, probably going to have the football on, never eaten there but had many a drunken night in it, food cant comment on.

Decent places for food, In or around Bracknell

The Yorkshire Rose, Good food but more of a restaurant than a pub. Out towards Warfield.

The Stag and Hounds, Very Good food but again more of a Restaurant Sunday roast is great, usually busy but very nice when ever I have used it, usually full of families though. Out towards Binfield.

The Loch Fyne in Wokingham, Standard fish restaurant, good but not sure if the kids will appreciate it.

The Stirrups?? Out towards Winkfield, Windsor way, Good food but havent been in there for a long while.

Windsor has a lot of decent places to eat so does Ascot, Bracknell is not exactly renowned for its high class food, more for the high rate of teenage pregnancy! Most of the pubs here now put the football, rugby or what ever on in order to pack the places out.
But most places have a beer garden( Running horse has a lovely view over a round about, manors not much better but its bigger)

Cant comment on Woking its been a while since i have been out there, I have the pleasure of living in Bracknell for my sins

I agree with the above, but try Peacock Farm on the new Jennets Park estate (off the A322) in Bracknell. Excellent food and very nice pub, child friendly too.

Ask the Landlord on here, i'm sure his joint is round there somewhere. He's alright too, so they say biggrin

Just checked and he's about an hour away from where you will be - never mind!

I used to work in Woking, unless your idea of fine cuisine is a burger in O'Neill's then don't bother.

Thats a good shout actually.
There is also the Weathervane, Brewers Fayre I think. Pretty standard issue but I am pretty sure its kiddo friendly.

BTW, you almost definitely mean Wokingham which is 5 miles up the
road from Bracknell, rather than Woking which is about 30 miles
away.

Hang on, shouldn't this be in Food, Drink & Restaurants, or perhaps
News, Politics & Economics, or Readers Cars? Ho Ho Ho.
