I was shocked to find out (not that long ago) that some Phers didn't vote! I can only assume that that renders their vote worthless.

So if you could, would you sell your vote?

Lets put a sensible number on it, lets say for arguments sake £2,000

This is defiantly a lounge subject, please don't move!

I would sell it to an Irish or Commonwealth country national, resident in the UK at the time of the election but since they're allowed to vote in UK elections anyway, what's the point?

I wouldn't sell my vote.

But it would be an interesting concept if people were allowed to give up their right to vote for cash.

Men died in wars so that I could have the vote.

I would NEVER slur their memory or sacrifice by doing something so crass as to sell my vote for money.

Politicians must buy my vote with a better currency than that: justice, fairness, a commitment to a better society and a vision for how to get there, a commitment to democracy and a proper understanding of balancing the will of the people whilst protecting the rights of everyone from the tyranny of the many.

Have you not heard of postal vote fraud? (as favoured by the Asian community in this country)

funny, I was about to say that every year peoples votes are bought with nothing more than lies from despicable con men, so cash would probably be an altogether more palatable affair.

I would.

But not to you whilst you're wearing that username.

Or would you clean up the country and get the men working up mineshafts?

Yes. In a heartbeat.

If the person I would have voted for get's elected, I'd be 2 grand up and no worse off for it.
If not, well there's some nice guns out there for 2 grand, by selling a vote I'd already have shown my lack of feeling of moral obligation, so taking a pop and our beloved leader is all I'd need to do to regain the respect of those who I let down by selling the vote.

Sweet sweet logic.

Im really skint, so anyone can have my vote for £50. According to the BBC there is a 43% chance they'll vote the same way I would have done anyway......
