I'm spending Monday over at a customers in Colchester in a few weeks and need to make a decision to either spend the night there and then travel to Aston early the next day, or travel to Aston that night and spend the night in Aston. I would have driven the 100 miles to Colchester that morning.

Which would be better place for a company paid night of booze and junk food? Apparently we have get strippers with our own money... :-(

I live in Colchester. Monday night is a non-starter. And there are no strippers. Driving to Birmingham in the morning will have you in heavy traffic.

If it was me I'd do the drive in the evening and wake up fresh for work.

So thats 2 responses both suggesting that I travel to Aston that night to avoid heavy traffic, teenagers and squaddies. Thanks, will investigate hotels near where I'm going in Aston now!

Make sure that "near Aston" is a wide ranging target. Aston is a hole, but luckily near enough Brum City Centre to make it workable.

I can thoroughly recommend the Hyatt Regency (my current second home wink )

PM me if you find the rates outrageous.
