Hi all,

Someone is the highest bidder on my item but has sent me a message claiming to have bid on the wrong item. Is there a way I can remove his bids from the auction?

Listing has 20 mins to go!

Cheers!

Ed

yes there is BUT he has to be the highest bidder, and there needs to be more than 24 hours left on the item.

Log on, go to the item, look at the bids, and underneath it there should be a 'cancel bids' option. click that link and follow instructions

DOH!

Worked it out myself but did not realise this could only be done if 24 hours remaining - just lost myself £36!

wait for it to end, then do second chance offer allowing you to sell it to the next highest bidder

or something like that

After the auction finishes, you can email the second highest bidder and offer him the lot at his highest bid due to the winner dropping out.

To qualify I have now cancelled his bids but someone else was also bidding so they are now the highest bidder but the amount is £16 down.

Yep, that would happen.

I don't see the issue.

Nope. Twas an old TV - the idiot bidder had taken it up to £36 but by retracting his bid brought it back to the winning bidders first bid of £21.

Jockey.

Ah well, £21 towards a new Freesat HD box...
