Because the BBC's budget only stretches to able 15 new tracks a year on radio 2.

They also only posess 1 dire straits song, 2 Eric Clapton ones and 1 Chris Rea song. Also have nothing by Hendrix or Johnny Cash.

Get to hear the song about some tart and her impotent fking boyfriend 8 times a fking day though.
