Need 72k for Uni!
Discussion
I was speaking earlier to a fellow worker and she was telling me about her son; He is heavily autistic but has been awarded a place at a prestigious University. Unfortunatly despite making the final few out of many applicants he was one of the three unlucky ones not to be awarded a full scholarship. As he is foreign he therefore has to pay full costs, which is a mouthwatering seventy two thousand pounds for three years. His mother is a single parent on a low wage and so there is no way she can afford this (The husband is dead I think). I believe she has not been in the country long (less than a year) so is struggling to find a provider for a loan. I know there are alternative methods of getting funds for education such as grants or professional development loans - has anybody had any experience of these and what are the chances? It seems a shame for somebody to be denied a chance purely based on funds.
Thanks in advance.

Try for a scholarship at a different Uni?
I would say that if someone is offered a place at one of the top 2 educational establishments then they'd be crazy to say no....V8mate said:
