Guide dogs are trained to go on command and in the same place, lived next to somebody who puppy walked for the RNIB and all their dogs went on the "busy" command in specific place in their garden
even my springer does that each night before we go to bed. it's quite easy to train them to do it. though you would then expect blind people to have back gardens knee-deep in $hit:yes
'Busy busy' is the command my friend's uses for her guide dog.A guide dog has amazing knowledge to work for those unfortunate people who have lost their sight.
My springer does a 'go for a wee' command before I go to bed so we must all train our dogs for specific commands maybe not the same way as the GDA.

ok random question, anyone know the best way to get dogs to go on comand?
weve got a 5 year old chocolate labrador, which has a thing about going to the loo, or not
she will never go inside, but when you let her out to go last thing at night, she wont go, but she will bark to go out at 5 in the morning, is it too late to train her to go as shes now 5? shes also slightly interbred(well quite a bit), she was our first dog, and we didnt think it would be a problem, but shes really dappy
the other dog a collie/dashund cross, has a thing about going on walls, we have small, about 1' high walls in the garden, to raise the flower beds, and he has a think about backing up to them and pooing on top of them, whats that all about?

It's far easier as a puppy. As an Adult dog you'll have to watch them, and as soon as they start to go, give them the command, then reward them. Keep doing this for a while, then give them the command (usually just after dinner when they would normally go?), and if they go, they get the treat.
