Don't get me wrong.
I love dogs.
I wouldn't swap my two for the world.
But why, when they decide to do a runner cos I didn't lock the door, do they have to run up onto the farm, find a newly born calf and them spend half an hour rolling around in afterbirth and st.

What posseses them to do this?

Do you know how long it takes to get cow afterbirth off a mastiff?

I'd guess you can get the blood and crud off in a few hours of scrubbing and hosing down. The smell though, I reckon that'll be a week with a groom using grooming spray every other day...

One of ours likes Fox/Deer poo. The other likes pheasant poo. Delightful..

Yardbrush....fairy liquid and a pressure washer did it.
No point in being gentle with a mastiff.

It's not just dogs though, I was watching a film on the net earlier and two women were rolling around in a pit full of mud.

Most illuminating.

I've heard many questions over the years but this is a first, heck even Google struggled.

I read somewhere that wolves roll around in the carcasses of dead animals to disguise their own scent when hunting. Dogs rolling in st and guts could just be inherited behavior. That, or it could just be a load of old bks that some dog psychologist made up to peddle a few books....

Our dogs used to eat the afterbirth as a treat, they yummed it up.

Just to round the story off nicely....
The akita has spent most of the evening projectile vomiting around the house.
Apparently she wasn't just rolling in it.

I'm going for a bath now.

Holy snot...

I hope your pressure washer's not as powerful as my pressure washer.

It cuts wood to ribbons, god knows what it would do to dog bits....

Considering some of the filth that is available on the internet, I reckon you could film that & sell it onlaugh
