Tv person who looks like mike hawthorn?

A friend of mine met someone the other day who the "recognised form TV" but he cant think for the life of him who it was. He reckons that he looked quite like the late Mike Hawthorn http://www.mike-hawthorn.org.uk/home.php but with curly hair.
