Money not paid into account at bank?
Discussion
Hi Guys
I went to HSBC to pay a bankers draft of £2000 in & pay in £2095 cash. I have just checked my online statement and the cash has not gone into my account?!. My paying in book has not been stamped for the cash i have paid in and the girl at the bank said that the system was down and the cash would'nt show in my account....have i been defrauded £2095 cash??
Help!

The desk will be covered by CCTV. Obviously there is no proof of the amount of cash you handed over however it will be obvious it isn't your paper round money. I would think they would honour it.
Plus they can count the cash taken that day surely and match it with the electronic records, hopefully leaving your amount present.

If she hasnt stamped his paying in book then surely if she put the cash in her handbag the bank records will still tie up at the end of the day.
I very much doubt that a clerk has put £2095 cash into her bag expecting to get away with it. It probably just hasn't gone through as a transaction yet given the bank holiday (I presume you deposited yesterday?)
It might be worth a call to India to see if their systems have any record of the deposit yet. Either that, or check again online on Tuesday morning.

IIRC transactions after 1500, even cash will not be processed until the following working day.
Regardless of the time you paid it in, if their system was down then the transaction may not have entered until later that day, or not entered yet. But it as far as I'm aware cash appears on your account immediately.
Have you checked the "available" amount on your account. Does it include what's been paid in?

So you gave her your paying in book, she stamped it for £2k bankers draft, but neglected to stamp that you'd paid in £2095 in cash as well??I went to HSBC to pay a bankers draft of £2000 in & pay in £2095 cash. I'd be beating on the bank managers office door, asking WTF is going on.
If you have paid the cheque and cash in on different paying slips they will be processed in 2 different ways. The cash amount along with your account details are entered in the machine at the till and will remain 'in limbo' until the system is working properly when the transaction can be transmitted. Most of the time the transactions held offline have to have a cashier transmit them and will not normally be sent automatically overnight, so you probably won't see anything happen until your bank are open again. Cheques are processed on a different system as these details need to be sent off to a central clearing department for payment.
