As some of you will know, our own little resident nutter Rach* is going on an epic trip across the world, final destination Australia. Now in todays age, there seems to be people going all over the place with organisations such as Gumball and the likes, but Rachel and her team are doing this in a small group and in the name of charity.

The craziest thing about this trip is her choice of vehicle rofl

You could chose something cheap and reliable, you could chose something with a repuation of covering galactic miles without a sweat, but noooooooo, not our Rach.

She's chosen a 1976 VW "Baja" Beetle yikes

The girl really is grade A bonkers if you ask me hehe

Anyway, I'll get to the point:

Although this trip has been financed independantly, the main aim is to raise money for charity and this is where this post comes in:

They're raising money for the No More Landmines campaign with a self imposed goal of £1000 on their donations page of which they're half way there, but time is drawing closer to their depature date.

We're hoping to bring a bit more attention to this remarkable adventure and bring some more donations onto the page and, if any fancies offering financial support or sponsorship by way of supplies, then it would be greatfully appreciated smile

Let's all support these nutters wink

She's decided to go in one of the worlds most reliable and prevalent cars? That is a smart move if you ask me. Bug spares must be the most commonly produced metallic item on the planet, shirley?

Thanks Scott biggrin

KR - I haven't driven the Baja once without breaking down or having some kind of drama, he's at an Aircooled place now having some final tinkering, latest one is the battery draining within 30 mins leaving me stranded outside the village hehe

Thank you Glocko, he's making us some t-shirts thumbup

Kimmy, that would be great, thank you very much biggrin

We've been planning about a year now with only 5 weeks to go and feeling very disorganised it's a bit scary. Meh, it'll all work out!

Good on you girl. I wish more people would grow a pair (not literally) and go out and do crazy stuff like this. I did it myself many years ago, best thing I ever did.

ps. I just shoved you a few pennies towards lippy, shoes, handbags and suchforth. thumbup

Seriously, me and gf would be more than happy to buy you a drink/meal/therapist session, whatever is more than needed.

See what I did there? I mentioned the gf so you realised it was an offer of kindness and not a sleazy pick up line tongue out

Drop us a line if you need any help once in Malaysia / Singapore (although as there is no car ferry from Singa to Indonesia i guess you probably wont get here)

Know several very good aircooler specialists out here (given that my one is older than yours!!!!)

ETA no airconditioner fitted to that bug i see, you may want to pack some extra fans for SE Asia wink (see Dupont666's whinge about humidity in London last night!!!)

My annoying friend came over with a drawing pin.

He really let my girlfriend down because of that.
