I have just come out of my German lesson and between 4 English guys we couldn't work out if when writing a sentance in English you write the days of the week with a capital or not?

I know you write a capital letter for names and I think you write it for the months of the year but we are not sure about days of the week.

so, is it monday or Monday?

thanks

You never write a 'sentance' in English.

Yes, you should capitalise days (and months).

In English, the names of days of the week, months and languages are capitalized, as are demonyms like Englishman, Arab. In other languages, practice varies[4].

Capital letters should always be used when referring to "Proper Nouns" or "Names".

The days of the week have names so they should always be prefixed with a capital - just like a person's name.
In fact, any object, item or person which has a specific name should always be prefixed with a capital letter.

I am always amazed at the lack of knowledge of basic English (notice the capital "E" in English) that's out there.
